A 37-year-old woman who delivered a baby through an acupuncture-based treatment has died in Chavakkad, Thrissur. The deceased has been identified as Muhsina, a native of Chavakkad. Her family has come forward alleging that she was subjected to severe domestic abuse by her husband. Chavakkad police have registered a case of unnatural death. Muhsina had given birth to a baby girl in the first week of January.
However, the newborn died six days after delivery. According to muhsinas relative Anas, Muhsina had multiple injuries on her body and was in a critical condition, but her husband, Ibrahim, allegedly did not admit her to a hospital. The family also accused that Ibrahim, who is an acupuncturist, did not allow Muhsina to contact her relatives. Muhsina’s father and sister, who visited her house in Chavakkad a few days ago, found her in a serious condition. She was then shifted to a hospital, but passed away yesterday morning. This was Muhsina’s seventh delivery. Two of her previous children had also died earlier.
