Thrissur: A police inspector was found hanging inside the police inspector quarters in Thrissur on Thursday morning.The deceased has been identified as R. Rajesh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Mala Police Station.
According to officials, Rajesh, a native of Kollam, had been on leave for the past two days and arrived at the quarters on Wednesday afternoon. When the quarters remained unopened on Thursday morning, a check was conducted, during which he was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside his room.
Workers employed under the rural employment scheme who were working on the premises had reportedly seen Rajesh at the quarters on Wednesday afternoon.B. Krishnakumar, the District Police Chief, visited the scene. After the inquest procedures are completed, the body will be handed over to the family. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances that led to the apparent suicide.
