Thrissur: A private bus and an ambulance collided at Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur district on Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred near Vettikattiri Cafe Mechanic around 2:30 p.m.
The private bus was travelling from Cheruthuruthy to Thrissur, while the ambulance was heading from Thrissur to Ottapalam. Following the collision, the bus lost control and veered into a paddy field.
The bus was prevented from completely overturning into the field after getting caught against coconut trees. Several people sustained minor injuries.
The front portion of the ambulance was completely damaged in the impact. Local residents said they suspected that the accident occurred after the ambulance, allegedly travelling at high speed, lost control.
