Thrissur: The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) and the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) organised a night march in Thrissur city on Wednesday, protesting what they described as the Central government’s violent suppression of the student protest in Delhi.

The demonstrators alleged that the Centre used police personnel and “goons” to unleash a brutal crackdown on the students and condemned the action.

Writer Haritha Savithri inaugurated the protest. AISF Thrissur district secretary Mithun Pottakkaran presided over the event. AIYF district president Binoy Shabeer delivered the welcome address, while AISF district president Adv. K.S. Abhiram proposed the vote of thanks.

Among those who addressed the gathering were CPI district assistant secretary E.M. Satheesan, district executive member T. Pradeep Kumar, AIYF district secretary Prasad Pareri, AISF state joint secretary K.A. Akhilesh, and AIYF state committee members V.K. Vineesh, T.P. Sunil, and Lini Shaji.

The protest concluded with participants reiterating their demand for accountability over the alleged use of force against students in Delhi.
