Thrissur: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) staged a protest with their mouths covered outside the residence of actor Tovino Thomas, accusing him of making “selective” public statements on social issues.

According to the organisers, the protest was held in response to what they described as the actor’s silence over alleged irregularities in Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) recruitments and the ongoing protests by nurses in his home district of Thrissur. They alleged that while job aspirants included in PSC rank lists were protesting over the issue and nurses were continuing their agitation, the actor had not commented on these matters.

The protesters further claimed that Tovino Thomas had expressed support for what they described as an “anti-national protest” in Delhi, and said their demonstration was intended to highlight what they called his selective responses to public issues.

The protest was organised by the Alur Mandalam unit of the Yuva Morcha. Mandalam President Vishwajith presided over the event, while General Secretary Ashwanth delivered the welcome address. District Vice President Ashish T. Raj inaugurated the protest. Mandalam Secretary Sreemon and Yuva Morcha leaders Abhinav, Rahul, Prafull, and others participated.
