Thrissur: A runaway horse caused panic in Cheruthuruthy on Sunday morning, causing damage to vehicles and property.
The white horse had been taken to the Bharathapuzha River at around 8 a.m. to be bathed when it broke loose and ran towards its owner’s place at Nedumbara.
The horse raced through the main town of Cheruthuruthy, from the Cochin Bridge to Nedumbara. Due to its high speed, several pedestrians, motorists and two-wheeler riders along the roadside were injured.
Ratish, 35, of Naravamkunnath House, Atoor Manappady, was injured after being attacked by the horse while he was travelling from Atoor towards Nedumbara.
Vehicles were also forced to stop after people became frightened upon seeing the horse running uncontrollably along the road.
