Peechi/Thrissur, Kerala: Three houses developed structural cracks after a minor earthquake struck the Peechi area of Thrissur district on Monday evening around 6 PM, residents said.
The affected houses belong to Sasi Mangamath of Pallikkunnu, Aby Thekkekara and Simon Kattiparambil. According to residents, one of the houses sustained a crack measuring more than 10 feet along its main wall.
The earthquake, accompanied by a loud rumbling sound, was felt around 6 pmin Peechi, Thekkekulam, Pallikkunnu and Jandamukku areas, triggering panic among local residents.The region had also experienced a similar earthquake last week, during which Sasi’s house reportedly suffered damage. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the cause or magnitude of the tremor.
